Walt Whitman (1819-1892) died 92 years before I was born and yet his words have reached across time to touch me in ways that few other writers have been able to manage. The touch of words on the heart of any person is not something that can be described so I will simply leave you with these words from the great Walt Whitman:<\/p>\n

O ME! O life!… of the questions of these recurring;
\nOf the endless trains of the faithless\u2014of cities fill\u2019d with the foolish;
\nOf myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more
\nfaithless?)
\nOf eyes that vainly crave the light\u2014of the objects mean\u2014of the struggle ever
\nrenew\u2019d;
\nOf the poor results of all\u2014of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me;
\nOf the empty and useless years of the rest\u2014with the rest me intertwined;
\nThe question, O me! so sad, recurring\u2014What good amid these, O me, O life?<\/p>\n

Answer.
\nThat you are here\u2014that life exists, and identity;
\nThat the powerful play goes on, and you will contribute a verse.<\/p>\n
