Strawberry Singh started a meme<\/a> on her blog a short while ago and I thought it would be fun to do for several reasons. One being that memes are fun and another being that I thought it would help others get to know me a little better because -lets face it- we’re all shy sometimes and knowing a little about someone generally helps easy the awkwardness of starting up a conversation. So here goes!<\/p>\n

1. My avatar’s name was a wonderful coincidence. ‘Sedia’ is a long standing role play character of mine so I knew I wanted to keep that name and, on the first list of last names, I saw ‘Darkrose’ – which just so happened to be the last name of a friend’s role play character who is Sedia’s cousin. My friend was quite amused when I told her \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

2. I almost never change out of my “quick” outfit unless I’m taking photos. It’s not that I don’t care about my appearance, I just don’t see the point in getting all dolled up to do a hunt or something – especially if I am going to an event that I know will be laggy. My appearance in SL is kind of like RL – I don’t get out of my pjs unless I have to haha<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 I firmly believe that you don’t need to spend money in SL to have nice things. I go out and buy things sure, but generally I get picky with anything over 10L. For me to spend several hundred L on something means I really, really want it. If someone else wants to spend money on something though, I am perfectly fine with that. I would never belittle someone for “paying for pixels” (and hate people who do) because I think it’s a perfectly acceptable thing to do – I just don’t do it that often myself.<\/p>\n

4. I really hate having people next to be when I’m at a sandbox. It’s like changing in front of someone to me. Once, when I was on a fairly busy sandbox, inside a small little “dressing room” I had set up to change, someone just walked right in and started talking to me… it was really screwed up to me and they got offended when I told them to kindly go away xP<\/p>\n

5. I quite like role play, however, I haven’t done much of it in SL because everyone seems to want me to be a sex toy or a slave and that’s just not going to happen. If someone wants to role play with me they have to show they are serious about it and not just looking for a quick fix or a “good time.” All of my role plays are lengthy and I prefer them that way.<\/p>\n

6. I like SL because I am a visual person. If it’s crappy outside then I can just sit my avatar down on some sunny beach sim and pretend everything is peachy. It really helps actually. Especially if I have a long project to do, seeing my avatar “focused” and “working hard” keeps me doing the same \ud83d\ude1b<\/p>\n

7. My blogging of SL is nothing more than my desire to share the pictures I create with others. I don’t blog for fashion, for freebies, or anything like that. I blog photo challenges, because they inspire creativity, and other random things I like (like recently, I did one for Relay For Life of Second Life). It’s my way of adding visuals to my blog because, like I said, I’m a visual person \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
