Recently, the question of “what’s the point?” has been echoing across my mind quite a lot. I think it’s been bugging me because I am at a point where I have both just started a new chapter and also will soon be finishing a chapter in my life. My brain is finding that middle ground of limbo quite uncomfortable and so is causing me to question a lot of both what is going on in my life and what my life is really all about. I know I like my life as it is, and I am very aware that I have a lot to be thankful for, but change is the glue that holds everything together. It seems rather funny to say that change is the think that keeps things stuck, but it’s true in this case.

I know my psyche is ready for some sort of change, but I’m not quite sure what that is just yet. Unlike most other people around me, however, I am perfectly fine with being ordinary. So, I know, whatever the change might be, it’s not going to be something crazy like an urge to conquer the world 😛 Maybe I’ll do something fun with my hair or take a vacation in my backyard. Those aren’t permanent changes I know… they’re not even big changes, but doing something permanent and/or grandiose would only mean that whatever that thing was would become just as stale as we go on in life. I certainly don’t want to have to keep upping the ante; if I can paraphrase the most interesting man in the world here, “Stay simple my friends.”

The grass isn’t greener and the sun doesn’t shine brighter somewhere else. The world is grand all around you if you just let it be. My life and the people in it are amazing, but it’s time to turn the spectrum just a bit and see what else comes into view. I encourage everyone to go out and find their own point, their own release, as I continue to try and chase mine down. I hope I never catch it though, because after that… what’s the point?
