(Week 40 \u2013 2015)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve reached week 40! That&#8217;s a pretty big number, does it make you nervous? I&#8217;ve always been fascinated by people who get all picky about revealing their age, from the younger ones who want to be older to the older ones who want to be younger. Aging can be so wonderful for so many reasons, but it can also bring regret and uncertainty. This week&#8217;s SMILE is for songs that deal with such issues. Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>Starting off is a song I quite enjoy, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bowling_for_Soup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bowling for Soup<\/a>&#8216;s 1985<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.azlyrics.com\/lyrics\/bowlingforsoup\/1985.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lyrics<\/a>). If you want a song dealing with the &#8220;what the hell happened?&#8221; aspect of aging, this is it. While I can&#8217;t relate to that feeling, being born in 1984, I can totally relate to the rest of it haha ^^;;; <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/K38xNqZvBJI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Offspring\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Offspring<\/a>&#8216;s Days Go By<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.azlyrics.com\/lyrics\/offspring\/daysgoby.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lyrics<\/a>) is up next and features a pretty common sentiment when it comes to songs like this. Basically, time goes on and we just have to keep moving. If you hold on to the past, you can&#8217;t look forward to the future.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Y5Zy2GkWVFs<\/p>\n<p>Instead of talking about regretting the past, which is the most common, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Britney_Spears\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Britney Spears<\/a>&#8216; I&#8217;m Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.azlyrics.com\/lyrics\/britneyspears\/imnotagirlnotyetawoman.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lyrics<\/a>) deals with being stuck in the middle of what society has deemed the two halves of a female&#8217;s life and facing the uncertainty of growing up.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IlV7RhT6zHs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Who\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Who<\/a>&#8216;s My Generation<\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.azlyrics.com\/lyrics\/who\/mygeneration.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lyrics<\/a>) is a classic song.
