SMILE for Soundtracks (Week 39 – 2015)

Soundtracks definitely don’t get enough love, so this week I’m going to focus on some of my favorite soundtrack singles. Enjoy!

First up is a song from the movie The Piano, here’s Michael Nyman‘s The Heart Asks Pleasure First (instrumental). I remember hearing this as a youngster and immediately falling in love with it. I love the movie to this day as well, and Anna Paquin is one of my favorite actresses.

Next up is Josh Groban‘s Anthem (lyrics), a piece from the musical Chess. Since this is a musical, it isn’t officially his song; this is just his version. His voice really fits the song well though!

The movie Heavenly Creatures is featured next, with Kate Winslet‘s Juliet’s Aria – Sono Andati (lyrics – last line is only said once in the movie though). Yes, you read that right; Kate Winslet performed this song as part of her role in the movie. She did an excellent job! Also, this is my favorite movie, so go watch it!

The newest song on this list is Hyoeun‘s 내사랑 You (lyrics)(Korean) from the drama All is Well. Hyoeun is a member of one of my favorite girl groups (Stellar), so of course I had to check this out! While I haven’t seen the drama yet (no subs :P), this song is just so upbeat and cute ^^

Last, but not least, the Titanic hit: Celine Dion‘s My Heart Will Go On (lyrics). Come on, you expected me to do a SMILE about soundtrack songs and not include this one??

What are your favorite soundtrack singles? Let me know in a comment below, and be sure to include any suggestions you may have for future SMILEs!
