So, yesterday was Saturday… and, yes, I did forget to do a SMILE ^^;;; I wasn’t doing anything special either, I just forgot about it. In light of the mishap, for this week’s SMILE, I picked some older rock songs that have ‘forget’ in the title. Enjoy!
First up is Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s How Soon We Forget (lyrics). I actually haven’t heard this song in a long time… *sigh* it’s a good song with a great message. I’m going to add it to my music library right now before I forget! And, remember to count your blessings!
Bob Dylan‘s Forgetful Heart (lyrics) is up next, and his voice really fits this kind of song. This is one of those songs that everyone connects to in a different way, but it still speaks on a universal level.
Judas Priest‘s Never Forget (lyrics), unlike the two songs above, is about not forgetting. It’s a song that wouldn’t have been out of place on week 37’s SMILE about fans. This really is a touching song to hear as a fan, isn’t it?
Last up for this week is Bob Seger‘s Rock And Roll Never Forgets (lyrics). This song is really what lead me to do this SMILE with other older rock songs ^^ I heard this as a kid and love it. It helped cement into my mind that music doesn’t care about things like age, language, etc. Just enjoy the music!
Music is often used to forget about life, what songs help you forget? Let me know in a comment below, and be sure to include any suggestions you may have for future SMILEs!
